Psychology 311


Psychology 311 is the second course in the first-year statistics core sequence in Psychological Sciences. The main subject matter of the course is analysis of variance designs The course is taught at approximately the technical level of the course textbook, which is currently the third edition of Reseach Design & Statistical Analysis, by Myers, Well, and Storch. However, the course will also include basic material on multiple regression and multilevel models.

All designs covered in the course are treated thoroughly from the standpoint of underlying theory, power analysis, precision analysis, sample size analysis, effect size estimation, and the effect of assumption violations.

The core software system for the course is the freeware open-source package R.

Prerequisite: All students are assumed to have taken Psychology 310 or its equivalent.
